James A. D'Aloisio, P.E., SECB, LEED AP, BD+C

Principal with Klepper, Hahn & Hyatt in Syracuse
Mr. D’Aloisio is a principal with Klepper, Hahn & Hyatt, a structural engineering, landscape architecture, and building envelope services firm in East Syracuse, New York. A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Mr. D’Aloisio is a registered professional engineer in New York and Massachusetts, and he has been certified by the Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB) since its inception in 2007. He is a member and past president (1997-1998) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Syracuse Section, and a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and the Consulting Engineers Council of New York State (CEC-NYS). Mr. D’Aloisio is chair of the Sustainability Committee of ASCE’s Structural Engineering Institute. He is a trained infrared thermographer. Mr. D’Aloisio received the Order of the Engineer at Syracuse University in 1997. His 30-plus years’ experience as a consulting structural engineer has primarily involved the design of new building structures, additions, and modifications, and analyses, assessments, and investigations of structures and facades. Specialties include detailing to minimize structural thermal bridging, the use of alternative structural systems and design approaches that can reduce the CO2-e emissions of structures and foundations. Dr. D’Aloisio has been involved in numerous special inspection projects, including developing statements of special inspections, performing inspections, and facilitating discrepancy resolutions. He has also performed over 100 structural forensic investigations, and he has presented over 100 times.

Christopher R. Paolini, P.E.

Sr. Vice-President of CME Associates, Inc., in East Syracuse
Mr. Paolini is a New York State and Massachusetts licensed engineer and is sr. vice president of CME Associates Inc. He received his B.S. degree in Environmental and Resource Engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University, and he has a master’s degree in Professional Studies, also from SUNY ESF. In 2007 Mr. Paolini was promoted to vice-president of CME. In 2013, he was promoted to senior vice president where he provides engineering program management, technology training and market enhancement to CME’s five New York branch facilities. Mr. Paolini has been the geological engineer-of-record on more than 1,000 geotechnical engineering projects. When the New York State Building Code was updated in 2002, he became a leader in the industry relative to special inspections and began educating not only his staff, but also design professionals, owners and building code officials, and he continues to educate on updated versions of the New York State Building Code. Mr. Paolini has given more than 100 seminars on Chapters 17 and 18 of the New York State Building Code (2010), and he has provided several seminars on soil mechanics and geotechniques to the construction industry. Mr. Paolini is currently the president (chair) of American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) New York – Central Region. He is also an examiner for the American Concrete Institute.
