Continuing Education Credit Information

This seminar is open to the public and offers 6.5 PDHs to engineers in all states. HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education provider for Florida professional engineers (Provider No. 0004647).

HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education provider for Florida architects and interior designers (Provider No. 0001388; License No. PVD394), and the Florida Board of Architecture and Design has approved this course for 6.5 continuing education hours.

The American Institute of Architects has approved this event for 6.5 HSW Learning Units (Provider No. J885). Architects licensed in all other states will be able to claim continuing education credit for completing this seminar.

Attendance will be monitored and reported, as required. Attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.

Speakers:

Mike Keating

Mike Keating has been in the construction industry for over 27 years in various capacities including estimator/cost engineer, project manager, construction manager, director of construction, and A/E construction administrator, to name a few. He has been involved in both commercial and residential construction projects both in the public and private sectors with several individual projects exceeding $100 million in construction value. Mr. Keating currently works for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a cost engineer and value engineering officer on large military, civil works, and inter-agency developments. In addition, he teaches a class in Construction Engineering as an adjunct instructor at the University of South Alabama’s Department of Civil, Coastal, and Environmental Engineering.

Mr. Keating grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska. In addition, he received his MBA degree from the University of West Florida in 2004. He is a licensed professional engineer (PE) in the State of Virginia and a certified general contractor (CGC) in the State of Florida. Mr. Keating holds several other industry certifications including certified cost engineer (CCE), value management associate (VMA), certified professional estimator (CPE), and certified construction contract administrator (CCCA).
