Mr. Avery was in the Army for 20 years. Since 1993, after he retired from the Army, he has restricted his practice to family law, predominantly in Montgomery County, Maryland. First as a solo practitioner and now in partnership with his daughter, Prudence Upton. Mr. Avery has handled hundreds of divorce, child custody, child support, visitation and other family issues, most often bringing them to resolution without the need for a trial. He is certified as a mediator in both general civil matters and family law, focusing on property and child-related issues. Mr. Avery serves as a facilitator for the Family Law Division of the Montgomery County Circuit Court. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law where he co-teaches collaborative practice to law students. Mr. Avery is a trainer for the Collaborative Practice Training Institute training practicing professionals in collaborative practice. He is a member and past president of the Collaborative Dispute Resolution Professionals, Inc. (CDRP) and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Mr. Avery is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the DC Bar, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Bar Association of Montgomery County.

Ms. Glackin was selected to the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Top 50 Female Maryland Super Lawyers and the Top 100 Maryland Super Lawyers for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. She heads the military divorce department within the firm. Ms. Glackin is one of only 35 fellows in the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) www.aaml.org and one of only two in the southern Maryland area, the other fellow being her partner, Paul J. Reinstein. Her practice is concentrated in the area of domestic law and she is widely sought for her extensive experience representing military service members. As a former military dependent, Ms. Glackin innately understands the unique challenges facing the military service member and spouse during divorce, custody and child support cases. She is frequently hired as a consultant to other attorneys to assist in the representation of military service members and their families. This unique area of expertise, coupled with Ms. Glackin’s detailed understanding of the Uniformed Services Former Spouses’ Protection Act, has made her a frequent guest lecturer to professional groups and other associations.

Ms. Robbins graduated from the University of Richmond and the University of Miami School of Law. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Natalie Baskin on the 3d District Court of Appeals in Florida. Ms. Robbins is the past chair of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of Montgomery County. She is also a past co-chair of the Child Support Committee of the ABA Family Law Section, and she was a member of the ABA Family Law Section’s Continuing Education Committee for two years. Ms. Robbins is a member of the Military Law Committee of the Maryland State Bar and the Military Law Committee of the ABA Family Law Section. She regularly presents for the ABA on military family law issues, most recently in Savannah, Georgia in May 2017. In addition, Ms. Robbins has produced and presented at the Military Divorce Symposium presented by the Family Law Section of the Bar Association for Frederick County, Maryland (2015).
