This seminar is open to the public. It has been approved by the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on CLE for 6.5 general CLE hours.

The Ohio Department of Insurance has approved this course Ohio for 6.5 credit title insurance producers.

HalfMoon Education has applied to the Ohio Department of Insurance for approval of this course for Ohio title insurance producers. The approval is pending.

This course offers 6.5 PDHs to Ohio professional land surveyors and professional engineers to whom the subject matter is professionally relevant. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Ohio.

The American Association of Professional Landmen has approved this event for 6.5 RL, RPL or CPL recertification credits and no CPL/ESA of ethics credits.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.


Matthew Onest

Attorney with Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., L.P.A.
Mr. Onest practices in the areas of commercial and residential landlord-tenant law, real estate law, labor and employment law, collections law, contract law, litigation, and oil, gas, and mineral law. Mr. Onest counsels landlords, both commercial and residential, on areas ranging from lease drafting to the eviction process, and he has handled numerous eviction cases, including seeking damages for unpaid rent and physical damage to rental properties. He handles a variety of commercial litigation matters, including complex business disputes. Mr. Onest counsels and advises producers and drillers involved in the oil and gas industry, including litigation before both state and federal courts in Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Stark County Bar Association, and the Akron Bar Association. Mr. Onest received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Mount Union and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Akron School of Law, where he served as assistant editor of the Akron Law Review.

Louise Veverka

Owner and President of L.V. Surveying Inc.
Ms. Veverka is a licensed professional surveyor in Ohio. She is no stranger to the surveying profession, having spent 17 years as a president of L.V. Surveying, Inc. where she was named Top Ten Female Business Owner in Northeast Ohio in 2000 by the National Association of Women Business Owners and Crain’s Cleveland Business. Prior to becoming a licensed surveyor Ms. Veverka was employed as a draftsperson and survey crew person at various engineering and surveying firms. Ms. Veverka has more than 38 years in the surveying profession, including serving in the U.S. Navy as a draftsperson. Ms. Veverka has been named Surveyor of the Year 2009 by the Cleveland Chapter of the Professional Surveyors of Ohio (PLSO) where she an active member of the board. After a successful career in surveying, Ms. Veverka is now a part time special lecturer at Akron University, teaching basic surveying to future surveyors and engineers. She also works on a part time basis at Residential Land Surveying working on boundary surveys. When Ms. Veverka is not busy in the surveying industry she enjoys spending time with her family, her husband of 43 years, two daughters and twin grandsons. Nick Weiss

Attorney with the Gertsburg Law Firm Co., LPA
Mr. Weiss joined The Gertsburg Law Firm after several years of practice focusing on civil litigation, and as in-house counsel to an international retail corporation. Mr. Weiss uses his years of experience in civil litigation, and his in-house advisory experience, to assist both businesses and individuals in pursuing and defending their interests, and obtaining the best possible outcomes for his clients. Mr. Weiss has represented numerous businesses and individuals through the course of his practice at both the trial and appellate level. As trial counsel, he routinely obtained substantial monetary judgments and settlements against defendants in civil actions. As in-house counsel, he regularly reduced the liability of the corporation in contentious litigation, once settling a case claiming over ten million dollars in damages for fifteen-thousand dollars through effective research and advocacy. Mr. Weiss lives in Richfield with his wife and two incredibly spoiled dogs. Though a transplant from Maine, he has converted to rooting for Cleveland sports teams after “gentle nudging” from his wife’s family.
