Continuing Education Credit Information

This seminar is open to the public and offers 6.5 PDHs to professional engineers and 6.5 HSW continuing education hours to architects in all states, except Florida architects. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Idaho.

The American Institute of Architects has approved this event for 6.5 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885). Courses approved by the AIA qualify for Idaho architects.

HalfMoon Education is deemed an approved continuing education sponsor for New York architects. HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education sponsor for engineers in Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey (Approval No. 24GP00000700), New York (NYSED Sponsor No. 35), North Carolina, and North Dakota.

This program also offers a non-mandatory continuing education opportunity to construction contractors. It has not been approved by any contractor licensing board with a continuing education requirement.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.


Marcene Taylor, CPE

President at Marcene Taylor Inc.
Ms. Taylor is a specialist in conceptual cost estimating, a published essayist, national president of the American Society of Professional Estimators, and president of Marcene Taylor Inc. She began her estimating career as an apprentice at Davis Langdon in 1996, then joined HMC Architects from 2001 to 2007. She was then the principal in charge of cost planning for mack5 until 2010 when she started Marcene Taylor Inc. She has written articles for Estimating Today as well as contributed to the books Hot Jobs and Non-Traditional Careers for Women and Men. Ms. Taylor has a Certificate in Construction Project Management from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and she is a certified professional estimator. She conducts cost planning and analysis for a variety of different facility types, specializing in healthcare, educational, civic and academic facilities. Ms. Taylor specializes in early conceptual estimating to ensure that a project’s scope is achievable for the budget available, emphasizing not only the construction cost portion of the project, but also the entire project budget.
