This course offers 8.0 intermediate level CPE hours in the area of computer science to CPAs. Prior knowledge computer security and networks is recommended. Courses taken from NASBA-registered CPE providers are accepted by the NYSED.

Mr. Gurel is the founder of Bard Dynamic, LLC, and is a certified fraud examiner, bringing a range of experiences and interests to fraud risk management. He is a graduate of Harvard College, where he concentrated in Economics, and Cornell University, where he earned his MBA degree from the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Caroline Morgan

Fox Rothschild, LLP, New York
An experienced litigator, Ms. Morgan handles a broad range of complex commercial and business matters representing clients in a variety of industries in the courtroom and in arbitration or mediation. She has significant experience representing clients in insurance disputes and all aspects of commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Ms. Morgan was a litigator at a large international law firm and a boutique firm, both based in New York City, where she focused her practice on litigation, (re)insurance and white collar crime. In addition to private practice, she was a partner and senior claims manager at a large global reinsurance company in Paris, where she was responsible for investigating, analyzing, managing, negotiating and resolving multimillion-dollar reinsurance claims for large complex losses worldwide as well as launch and in-orbit space claims. She earned her B.A. from Brown University and her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law.

Antonia Savaria

Atlantia Advisers, New York

Ms. Savaria is an New York-based corporate and regulatory compliance attorney, risk management executive and the founder and CEO of Atlantia Advisers – a strategic advisory, regulatory compliance and risk management consulting boutique, advising financial firms, FinTech and other innovative firms on issues related to regulatory and compliance risks, cybersecurity, cryptocurrencies and digital assets.

Ms. Savaria has expertise in investment management, hedge funds, broker-dealer regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and contract and business law. She has extensive in-house experience and has worked in various legal, compliance and risk management capacities at global financial organizations as well as in entrepreneurial ventures, including Morgan Stanley, KPMG and Focus Financial Partners. Ms. Savaria has provided counsel on legal, regulatory and compliance issues arising under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940, SEC and FINRA rules, as well as regulations of the Financial Conduct Authority (UK), Ontario Securities Commission and Autorité des marchés financiers (Québec)(Canada). She earned her BS degree in Economics and Business Management from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her JD degree from The Maurice A. Dean School of Law at Hofstra University.

Harumi Urata-Thompson

HUT Consulting, LLC

Ms. Urata-Thompson is CEO of HUT Consulting. She specializes in leading and advising companies on taking innovative paths to achieve strategic, operational and marketing success in their businesses. Currently, she is consulting to and serving on the board of directors of several companies. In addition, she acts as mentor to a number of people and speaks at numerous events. Subjects include artificial intelligence, blockchain, cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, outerspace, cross-border business, and diversity and inclusion. She also recently launched a space data company celestialdata.io. Prior to starting HUT Consulting, Ms. Urata-Thompson was the chief operating officer for CFA Society New York (previously New York Society of Security Analysts), a nonprofit affiliate of the CFA Institute with 10,000 financial professionals previously. Ms. Harata-Thompson has an MBA degree from INSEAD in France and a BA degree, magna cum laude, in business from Sophia University in Japan. She is a chartered financial analyst, certified project management professional, an advanced communicator and leader of Toastmasters, and she is bilingual in English and Japanese.
