Continuing Education Credit Information

This seminar is open to the public and offers 6.5 PDHs to professional engineers and 6.5 HSW continuing education units (CEUs) to architects in all states, except Florida architects. Educators and courses are not subject to pre-approval in Oklahoma.

This seminar is approved by the American Institute of Architects for 6.5 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885). Only full attendance can be reported to the AIA/CES.

HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education sponsor for engineers in Florida, Indiana (License No. CE21700059), Maryland, New Jersey (Approval No. 24GP00000700), New York (NYSED Sponsor No. 35), North Carolina, and North Dakota. HalfMoon Education is deemed an approved continuing education sponsor for New York architects.

This event offers 6.5 HSW CEUs to Oklahoma interior designers. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval.

The International Code Council has approved this event for .65 CEUs in the specialty area of Accessibility.

This course also offers a non-credit continuing education opportunity to construction contractors. Credit approval for contractors is not being sought in any state.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.

Ms. Avalos founded Accessology in 1990 after 12 years in the airline industry, where she played a crucial role in ensuring industry compliance with the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA). Since then, Accessology has grown to provide not only state plan reviews and inspections, but also national and international consulting services. Considered a true expert in her field, Ms. Avalos is also a sought-after witness for ADA/ACAA legal cases and has been named on more than 40 cases nationwide. Recognizing the value of educating others on the importance of removing attitudinal architectural barriers, she proudly offers training on both federal and state accessibility standards throughout the US.
