Webinar Instructions

Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.


Certificates of completion will be provided for each webinar attended and will be sent via email in PDF form about five business days after the conclusion of the series.


Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Instructions and login information will be provided in an email sent close to the date of the webinar. It is highly recommended that you download, install and test the application before the webinar begins by clicking on the link in the email.

Continuing Education Credit Information

These live, interactive webinars are designed to qualify for continuing education credit for professional engineers and architects in most states. Please see each webinar listing for the number of available continuing education credits. Course participants need to be aware of any licensing restrictions on online learning to fulfill their continuing education requirements.

The Massachusets Title 5 Onsite Advisory Committee, on behalf of MassDEP, has approved the Septic Systems Series for a total of 6.0 TCHs (1.5 TCHs per webinar) for System Inspectors and Soil Evaluators. It is the responsibility of SIs and SEs to retain proof of completing each webinar and submit them to the NEIWPCC when notified about renewal.

Participation and knowledge retention will be verified for these webinar events. Certificates of completion will be provided upon successful completion of the quiz at the end of each webinar, and earned LUs will be reported to the AIA/CES.

Speakers:

Dr. Sara Heger

University of Minnesota

Dr. Heger is an engineer, researcher and instructor at the University of Minnesota in the Onsite Sewage Treatment Program in the Water Resources Center and is an adjunct assistant professor in the Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering Department. For over 20 years, she has been conducting research and providing education and technical assistance to homeowners, small communities, onsite professionals and local units of government regarding onsite wastewater treatment. She has presented in over 30 different states and provenances in North America regarding the science of wastewater treatment including design, installation and management. Dr. Heger is the president elect of the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association and the education chair of the Minnesota Onsite Wastewater Association. She serves on the NSF International Committee on Wastewater Treatment Systems. Dr. Heger is also the chair of the Minnesota State Advisory Committee on Decentralized Systems. She has a BS degree in Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering and MS and PhD degrees in Water Resource Science.
