This seminar is open to the public and offers 7.0 PDHs, including 1.0 ethics hour, to professional engineers and 7.0 HSW CEPHs/continuing education hours to architects in all states. Educators and courses are not subject to pre-approval in Texas.

The American Institute of Architects has approved this event for 7.0 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885). Only full attendance can be reported to the AIA/CES.

Speakers:

Von M. Griggs-Laws

Von M. Griggs-Laws is an inspirational certified safety & health professional and consultant who possesses over 30 years of occupational health, safety and environmental experience in various industries. She has received the coveted CSHO certificate and is an adjunct instructor at Texas A&M/TEEX and OSHA Region VI. She is a presenter for NST/Skillpath providing seminar training for compliance standards as well as coaching leadership & management skills for women.

Her safety and health career began while serving with the United States Air Force (USAF) as a safety craftsman, where she earned several awards and medals during her 20-year military career. She is a retired disabled veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Attendees and participants in her seminars and trainings benefit from her knowledge, compassion, enthusiasm and unique ability to immediately put her audience at ease through practical, personal life experiences.

Ms. Griggs-Laws has been published in USAF publications, industry magazines and is a contributor to the National Safety Council. She has a bachelor of applied science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and an associate of applied science degree in Safety from the Community College of the Air Force. She holds numerous certifications: NCTRCA M/WBE and DBE; OSHA Instructor (General Industry and Construction Safety, Oil and Gas); PEC Safeland/Safegulf /SEMS Instructor; Certified Safety & Health Official/CSHO Texas A&M; Certified Government Environmental Specialist, WHO; Safety Trained Supervisor/SCHEST and National Safety Council Drug and Alcohol Defensive Driving Instructor.
