Continuing Education Credit Information

This seminar is open to the public and offers 7.0 PDHs to engineers and 7.0 HSW CEUs/continuing education hours to architects in most states. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Missouri.

This seminar is approved by the American Institute of Architects for 7.0 HSW Learning Units (Provider No. J885). Only full attendance can be reported to the AIA/CES.

HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education sponsor for engineers in Florida, Indiana (License No. CE21700059), Maryland, New Jersey (Approval No. 24GP00000700), North Carolina, and North Dakota. HalfMoon Education is deemed an approved continuing education sponsor for New York architects.

The International Code Council has approved this event for .7 CEUs in the specialty area of Building.

This course offers a non-credit continuing education opportunity to construction contractors. It has not been approved by any state contractor licensing entity for mandatory continuing education credit.

Attendance will be monitored and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.

Speakers:

Jared Agee, MCP, CBO

Division Director of Building and Code Enforcement for St. Charles County, Missouri

Mr. Agee is the division director of building and code enforcement for St. Charles County, Missouri. Previously, he worked in urban and suburban municipal governments managing building code enforcement, facilities, and information technology. Prior to his public sector positions, he worked in the construction industry in design and project management.

Mr. Agee has an undergraduate degree in Architectural and Mechanical Design and a graduate degree in Public Administration and Policy Analysis. As a Master Code Professional, he is one of approximately 800 people to obtain the highest level of certification from the International Code Council.

Mr. Agee is a former president of the Missouri Association of Building Officials and Inspectors (MABOI). In addition, he founded Regimen Consulting LLC, which provides code training and technology consulting to various organizations.

Course Description: This 7.0 hour live lecture presentation covers Chapters 1-4 and 6-12 and 14 of the International Existing Building Code and the challenges and opportunities with the existing building stock.

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to discuss the challenges and opportunities available in the existing building stock, the scope and administration of the International Existing Building Code, and explain the three provisions for compliance methods.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with International Exiting Building Code provisions for repairs and alterations.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with International Exiting Building Code provisions for change of occupancy and additions.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with International Exiting Building Code provisions for historic buildings and moved or relocated buildings.
