Jeffrey N. Gentile, P.E.

Director of Licenses & Inspection for Upper Darby Township

Mr. Gentile grew up in the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania, where he still resides. He studied engineering at Albright College and Penn State University and earned a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University. He is also a Pennsylvania licensed professional engineer. Mr. Gentile currently serves as the director of Licenses and Inspection and Community Development for Upper Darby Township, a position he has held for more than 20 years. He is a certified Pennsylvania UCC plan reviewer and inspector in multiple disciplines including building, accessibility, plumbing, mechanical and energy codes.

Course Title: International Plumbing Code

Delivery Method: Live

Course Description: This is a 7.0 hour live lecture presentation with the instructors and students together in the same room. It will be conducted in a handicap-accessible conference room with ample seating space and writing surface for all attendees. Bound written materials, authored by the faculty, will be distributed to all participants at the program. Attendance will be monitored and reported to AIA/CES. This course covers the development and enforcement of the International Plumbing Code and provisions found in Chapters 2-15.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with code provisions for fixtures and water heaters.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with code provisions for stormwater drainage, piping, non-potable systems, and irrigation.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss the applicability of the International Plumbing Code (IPC), the process of obtaining approvals and permits, and will be able to participate in inspections and testing.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with code provisions for water supply and distribution, sanitary drainage, indirect waste, vents and stacks.
