This seminar is open to the public. It is offers 6.0 PDHs to Nevada professional engineers. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Nevada.

Professional engineers seeking continuing education credit in other states will be able to apply the hours earned at this seminar, in most cases. Refer to specific state continuing education rules to determine eligibility.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.

Mr. Balkenbush’s litigation practice is focused on complex civil litigation in both state and federal court involving breach of contract actions, civil fraud, and construction disputes. He has extensive experience representing both owners and design professionals in commercial construction litigation in Nevada and California.

Aviva Gordon

Ms. Gordon graduated from Boston University in 1990, and with distinction from California Western School of Law in 1993. She is a member of both the Nevada and California Bars. Ms. Gordon has successfully argued before the Nevada Supreme Court and has several reported cases. She has been repeatedly named a “Legal Elite” by Nevada Business Magazine. She was included in The Distinguished Women in Nevada book, and she has been designated by Martindale-Hubble as a member of the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. Ms. Gordon has been repeatedly named as a Super Lawyer, which ranks her as a top-rated Las Vegas business litigation attorney who has met the stringent Super Lawyers selection criteria that includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. She is also a member of the Nevada Women’s Hall of Fame.

Eric Kohli

Founder at IP Law

Mr. Eric Kohli is an Intellectual Property attorney with 21 years of experience in patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and the like. He has worked as an IP attorney for some of the country’s most elite law firms. Some of his representative clients include SONY Corp, Caterpillar Inc, Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, SUN Microsystems, Whirlpool, and Boeing. He currently runs a boutique IP Law practice in Las Vegas.

Erica Nannini

Attorney at Holland & Hart

Ms. Nannini advises clients in the natural resources and mining industries on a range of disputes and regulatory issues involving public lands. She also works on a variety of other regulatory issues including public utilities, water law, and charter school law. Ms. Nannini works with a variety of Nevada clients, from new industry entrants to well-established industry stakeholders. Prior to joining Holland & Hart, she served as a law clerk to Justice Mark Gibbons of the Nevada Supreme Court and as a judicial extern to then-Chief Judge Robert C. Jones of the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada. During law school, Ms. Nannini worked as an energy regulatory intern with Nevada’s largest public utility, where she assisted with compliance at both the state and federal levels.

Casey Quinn

As a CIPP/US (Certified Information Privacy Professional/US Private Sector) with a graduate certificate in Emergency Crisis Management Cybersecurity from UNLV, Mr. Quinn brings his substantial experience in complex business and construction litigation to the table, helping businesses proactively navigate the legal landscape of cybersecurity.

Lee Roberts

Partner at Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins

Mr. Roberts is one of the top trial lawyers on the West Coast. In 2011, he was elected as an Associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”) Las Vegas Chapter. In order to be considered for associate membership, candidates must demonstrate exceptional trial skills and experience equivalent to 20 jury trials to verdict as lead counsel. In 2013 and again in 2018, Mr. Roberts was voted Las Vegas “Lawyer of the Year” for construction litigation by Best Lawyers. He is also recognized as a Best Lawyer in commercial litigation and a “Super Lawyer” – first in Georgia and now in Nevada. He was appointed by the Nevada Supreme Court to the Board of Trustees of the Nevada Law Foundation, and he served in that position for four years. Mr. Roberts received his B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Virginia, and his J.D. degree from the College of William and Mary.

Brittany Walker

Attorney at Holland & Hart

Ms. Walker assists energy, construction industry, and local government clients on regulatory and legislative matters before state and local governing bodies in Nevada. She has extensive experience with state and local policy. Prior to law school, she served as a policy analyst for the assembly majority leader at the Nevada State Legislature in 2013. While in law school, Ms. Walker clerked for the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. Her practice is focused on guiding clients through legal and regulatory obstacles encountered when operating within Nevada. Ms. Walker comes to Holland & Hart after completing a judicial clerkship in the Nevada Court of Appeals for the Honorable Judge Abbi Silver.
