Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. Certificates of completion will be provided for each webinar attended and will be sent via email in PDF form about five business days after the conclusion of the series.

Mr. Griswold has worked at the forefront of the green roof industry for 16 years. He has played critical roles in the design, development, sale, construction and successful establishment of nearly 1,000 green roofs across North America. From 2005-2013, he worked for one of the world’s largest waterproofing and green roof manufacturers. While in this position his sales strategies helped increase sales tenfold. Looking to get back to his Michigan roots, Mr. Griswold launched Inhabitect, LLC, in 2013, to serve as an independent resource for designing, building and growing all forms of living architecture that are functional, beautiful and affordable. With his international network of professional colleagues in architecture, landscape architecture, horticulture, engineering, construction and manufacturing, Mr. Griswold has the expertise to get the job done on time and on budget, exceeding client expectations.

Course Title: Energy-Efficient, Sustainable Roofs

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This six-hour live lecture presentation examines what makes a roof sustainable, sustainable certification and incentives, extensive and intensive green roofs, blue roofs and water management, cool roofs, and sustainable materials and construction techniques for conventional roofs.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain what makes a roof sustainable, how to research code requirements affecting sustainable roofs, and identify sustainable certifications and incentives.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to explain the differences between intensive and extensive green roofs, determine which projects are suitable for green roofs, and describe maintenance requirements for both.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to explain the benefits of blue roofs, including how they retain, store, reuse water.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to describe cool roof standards and ratings, how they utilize insulation and reflective materials, and what one can expect on reduced energy usage.

Learning Objective 5:
Learners will be able to identify sustainable materials and construction techniques to improve the energy efficiency of conventional roofs.
