Webinar Instructions

Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion will be provided for each webinar attended and will be sent via email in PDF form about five business days after the conclusion of the series.

Building Official for City of Republic, Missouri

Mr. Iliff is the building official for the City of Republic, Missouri. For more than 20 years, he has served as city planner, building inspector, and building official for various cities in Indiana, Texas, and Missouri. Mr. Iliff earned undergraduate degrees in Urban Planning & Development and Environmental Design from Ball State University. He has earned certifications as a city planner, code enforcement officer, and floodplain manager. He currently holds the Residential Combination Inspector and Certified Building Official certifications from the International Code Council.

Course Description: This 6.0 hour course covers the scope and administration of the International Property Maintenance Code, maintenance challenges and opportunities, and how the Code protects the public, general requirements, lighting, ventilation, plumbing, mechanical and electrical, fire safety, and inspections, permits and compliance.

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to describe Code maintenance requirements for fire safety, including egress and fire protection systems.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to describe general maintenance requirements for safety, sanitation, structural integrity, and weather resistance.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss building maintenance challenges, how the International Maintenance Code protects the public, and the scope and administration of the Code.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to discuss Code maintenance requirements for lighting, ventilation, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems and for occupancy.
