How to Create Preliminary Cost Estimates for Roadway Improvements

   Developing scope for potential roadway improvements
   Estimating cost for drainage improvements
   Calculating quantiles for excavation, embankment, road base and asphalt
   Estimating quantities for barricades, signs, stormwater protection and other
      basic roadway elements
   Approximating engineering costs and related inspection costs
   Performing reasonable checks of preliminary estimates

Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.


Certificates of completion will be provided for each webinar attended and will be sent via email in PDF form about five business days after the conclusion of the series.

George Lueck, P.E.

George Lueck, P.E., has 17 years of experience with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).  He started his career performing design and surveying for a variety of roadway projects ranging from farm-to-market roads, urban roadways and high design speed facilities in the Waco district.  He later transferred to the construction division, where he provided oversight to statewide districts in the areas of construction project management, construction engineering, inspection and contract claims.  After serving in this capacity for over 9 years, he transferred to the transportation planning division.  As Assistant Director of Traffic Analysis, he oversaw transportation data collection and reporting, corridor-level plans, and travel demand modeling.  He then served the City of Killeen for 11 years as Assistant City Engineer and Director of Transportation.  He had oversight of all operation of the city’s transportation system. He was also charged with ensuring that the city’s transportation system was planned, constructed and maintained in a cost-effective manner to effectively address the region’s growing safety, mobility and reliability needs.
